Our boxing history
The Ballas are a boxing family.
Qamil and Ibrahim’s father Nuri and their uncle Mitat Balla were both Australian and Victorian Amateur Boxing champions, learning the trade from all time boxing legend Roger Hagen. Mitat continued his career to win a professional Victorian title.
Qamil and Ibrahim grew up being taught by their father and uncle and went on to have successful amateur careers with over 200 fights combined. They won multiple Australian amateur titles and made it into the worlds top 10 ranking before Ibrahim reached the highlight of his amateur carreer when he went to represent Australia at the 2012 London Olympics.
As professional boxers, the brothers have made history by holding Australian titles simultaneously. Ibrahim continued to win the Australian championship in two weight divisions and both brothers won the WBA Oceania Title.
We had the opportunity to pick up many valuable skills while traveling and boxing all over the world. Countless international training camps with national teams and fights with other great boxers have given us plenty of knowledge that we are now able to share with you.
